Four years in the making, All About U.S. is our latest non-fiction children’s book, featuring 50 real kids from across the United States. Our goal for this book was to create an authentic portrait of the country, showcasing the diversity of its people and the vastness of its natural landscapes. To accomplish this, we did our best to match the demographics of the featured families with those of the United States. We conducted over 100 hours of interviews, received 20 hours of home tour footage and hundreds of photographs, to create the illustrations and short stories about each family.

The past decade has been a very polarizing time in the United States. We tend to simplify and vilify the “other side”—whatever that side may be. We hope All About U.S. will give young readers a window into the lives of their peers and show that, although on the surface we’re very different, we have more in common than we may think.
